What is the difference between Sunni and Shia Muslims ?
Lillatheberry, God does not bless Muslims even though he loves them. God only blesses his children. There isnt a Muslim nation on Earth, besides Dubai which isnt madly muslim anyway, that God has blessed. All muslim nations have massive internal violence and problems. None have money and most are living below the poverty line. Those who persecute Israel, God says he will curse. Obviously we can see this has happened with the palistinians and all other irate Jewish persecutors.Look at Israel, a 50 year old nation that God has blessed and caused to prosper and all those who have blessed Israel such as the USA and other western counties have been blessed as God said he will bless those who bless Israel. Fact of the matter is both muslims and Jews both claim Abraham as their father, and this is very true. However, the Arab arm of Abraham came from his liasion with his mistress and not his wife. His wife brought forth the seed of Israel and his mistress the seed of the Arabs. God said way back then that the illegitimate son will be a thorn in the side of the seed of Abraham forevermore and thus tis true, as we can see. Allah is not the God of the christians or the jews but is a continuation of the pagan god Baal, who fell down and worshipped the God of Gods and Lord of Lords who is Christ and King of the Jews. Its a shame that Muslims blindly follow allah without considering the facts. Fact is allah is a false god and he is stealing from the real God and his fruits are death, murder, hell, hunger, want, and unhappiness. Regards Matt.

The differences between Sunni and Shia Muslims is political rather than religious.
Sunni Muslims agree with the position taken by many of the Prophet’s companions, that the new leader should be elected from among those capable of the job. This is what was done, and the Prophet Muhammad’s close friend and advisor, Abu Bakr, became the first Caliph of the Islamic nation.
The Shia Muslims believe that leadership should have passed directly to his cousin/son-in-law, Ali. Throughout history, Shia Muslims have not recognized the authority of elected Muslim leaders, choosing instead to follow a line of Imams which they believe have been appointed by the Prophet Muhammad or God Himself.
It is important to remember that despite all of these differences in opinion and practice, Shia and Sunni Muslims share the main articles of Islamic belief and are considered by most to be brethren in faith.

Hi Admin,your blog is good and your response to sonya is informative. One problem i have with Islam is that muslims seem to put so much weight on what Muhammad says but reject alot of what Christ-Jesus says. Jesus was also a prophet but he lived 300 years before Muhammed and thus what he says is more inline with what the Torah says. Islam wasnt even around at this point. According to the Torah, Jesus is the fulfillment of over 100 detailed prohecies that concerned the coming messiah, including a detailed prophecy of his crucifixion in Psalm 22. God is Jesus and he has layed down his life as a sacrifice for our sins because there was no other worthy to do it.Jesus said as a prophet that “NO MAN COMES TO THE FATHER EXCEPT THROUGH HIM”. Can a prophet lie? No they cannot. Jesus made many claims as a phrophet, he claimed that he is God, he claimed that he created the world, he claimed to be the person who Moses spoke to in the burning bush. He claimed that he will come again. Jesus claimed that he was the sacrificial passover lamb for all of the sins of human kind thus providing free and promise assured salvation through trusting in him as your savior. He claimed that nobody can save themselves but through him. He claimed many false prophets will arise after him.

Your quotes from the Koran show Islam for what it is. Islam in its pure form are very violent and evil. God is love and life. Jesus said he came to give life and to give it in abundance. The Koran rejects this. Killing is against one of Gods 10 commandments. Jesus said that you will know Gods children by their fruits. Obviously, muslims fall way short of the fruits of a loving God. I believe in the one true God and his son Jesus Christ and the Bible but have read that the god of Muslims is the worship of the ancient sun god. Islamists hate the Jews, Americans and anyone not professing Islam. What is the truth of the worship of Allah, the Koran and the God Christians worship, the true God or the sun god? If Islamists believe in the one true God of the universe, how can they have such hatred to kill anyone including other Muslims? Muslim children in the Middle East sing songs of hatred against the Jews. So much hate that my heart aches.

i don’t believe that people who follow the bible are violent people. Just read your own bible (the whole thing, too) before you start bashing other religions.
Extremists are people who will be extreme over anything. If they didn’t use religion in an extreme way, they would be using something else.

If a Muslim astronaut flew to another planet e.g. Jupiter or Mars or may be the moon. Which direction will he face while praying? Christians can face any where. What about a Muslim?

I disagree with you Sayed, Allah will not forgive every1. Allah and God are NOT the same god. Why, according to the definition of Quran Allah is one diety, while God is trinity, God the Father, Son Jesus Christ and Holy Ghost. And these 3 are one. We cannot understand this, but God will reveal to us later. I urge Muslims to repent and recognize the God of the Jews the only true God in the universe. Surah Ikhlas, Ch.No. 112, V.No. 1 to 4, which says… (Arabic)…. ‘Say He is Allah, One and only’. (Arabic)… ‘Allah the Absolute and Eternal’. ‘As-Samad’ is a bit difficult to translate - It means, that ‘He exists’, and ‘He has created things, when nothing existed’. Everything and every person is dependent on Him, but he is not dependent on any person, or anything. ‘As Samad’ – ‘The Absolute and Eternal’ (Arabic….) ‘He begets not, nor is He begotten’,(Arabic….) ‘There is nothing like Him’. This is a four line definition of Allah Subhana Wa Talaah, which is the touch stone of Theology - Surah Iklas, is the touch stone of Theology. ‘Theo’ in greek means God – ‘Logy’ mean study. ‘Theology’ means study of God. Surah Ikhlas is the touchstone of Theology.
“Allah” is the most appropriate name for God in the Qur’an. Is this name “Allah” mentioned in other religious scriptures besides the Qur’an?
Almost all the major religious scriptures of the world contain the word “Allah” as one of the names of God.
a. Elohim El, Elah, Alah
In the Bible, God is very often referred to as ‘Elohim’ in the Hebrew language. The ‘im’ in the ending is a plural of honour and God is referred to as ‘El’ or ‘Elah’ in the English Bible with commentary, edited by reverend C. I. Scofield. ‘Elah’ is alternatively spelled as ‘Alah’. The difference in spelling is only of a single ‘L’. Muslims spell Allah as ‘Allah’ while the Reverend has spelled it as Alah and they pronounce it as ‘Elah’. Muslims pronounce it as Allah. Hebrew and Arabic are sister languages therefore we say it should be pronounced as ‘Allah’ and not as ‘Elah’.
When I was in school, I was taught ‘D, O’ is do, ‘T, O’ is to. What is ‘G, O’ It is ‘go’ and not ‘gu’. ‘N, U, T’ is nut, ‘C, U, T’ cut; ‘B, U, T’ is but, what is ‘P, U, T’? Not ‘pat’ but it is ‘put’. If you ask “Why?” The answer is “It is their language”. If I have to pass I have to say ‘P, U, T’ is ‘put’ and not ‘pat’. Similarly the right pronunciation for A, L, L, A, H, is Allah.
b. Jesus (pbuh) cried out Allah Allah when he was put on the cross
It is mentioned in the New Testament in the Gospel of Mathew, chapter 27 verse 46 as well as Gospel of Mark, chapter 15 verse 34 when Jesus (pbuh) was put on the cross.
Jesus cried with a loud voice saying “E’-Li, E’-Li la’-ma sa-bach’-tha-ni?” that is to say, ‘My God, My God why hast Thou Forsaken Me?’ Does this sound like Jehovah! Jehovah! why has thou forsaken me? Does it sound like Abba Abba? The answer is ‘No’. Hebrew and Arabic are sister languages and if you translate “E’-Li, E’-Li la’-ma sa-bach’-tha-ni” into Arabic it is ‘Allah Allah lama tarak tani’ does it sound similar?
This statement of Jesus (pbuh), “E’-Li, E’-Li la’-ma sa-bach’-tha-ni” is preserved in its original Hebrew in each and every of its translation which is available in more than 2000 different languages of the world and in each and every of them, “Allah” is present.

One of the names by which Gurunanak Sahib referred to God is “Allah”.
3a. “Allah” in Rigveda Book 2 Hymn I verse II
Even in the Rigveda which is the most sacred scripture of the Hindus, one of the attributes given to God Almighty in Book no 2 Hymn no I verse II, is ‘Ila’ which if pronounced properly is the same as Allah.
3b. Allo Upanishad:
Amongst the various Upanishads one of the Upanishad is named as ‘Allo’ Upanishad in which God is referred to as “Allah” several times.

What on earth are you all talking about. I am a non believer but accept that some people do believe. Thats great it gives us a sense of right or wrong. But surely if god or Allah exists it is one and the same. why different religions.Eternal life is lauded by all religions.In order to see, feel, touch or experience we need a brain. our brain dies when we do and is incapable of activity. Allah and God of Israel are NOT the same. Allah is a god of violence and blood, it instigates hate against the Jews and unbelievers(christians). Jesus said “I am the only way, whoever comes to Me will find everlasting life” He died on the cross for your sins. Christianity is not a religion like Islam or Hinduism, it is a personal relationship between you and Lord Jesus Christ. Accept Him as your personal Savior today.

Similarly in the Book of Deuteronomy, when the Jews attacked Sihon’s Amorite kingdom, “Yahweh our God delivered him over to us… We captured all his cities and laid whole towns under ban, men, women and children; we spared nothing but the livestock which we took as our spoil” {Deut 2: 33-35}.
{The NRSV translation of the passage; and we struck him down, along with all his offspring and all his people. At the time we captured all his towns, and in each town we utterly destroyed men, women, and children. We left not a single survivor.
The same in southern Canaan, which “Yahweh gave into the power of Israel; and Israel struck every living creature there with the edge of the sword, and left none alive” {Josh 10: 30}. The same at Lachish where “no one was left alive” {Josh 10: 33}.
Is there any other “sacred literature” that is as genocidal as this? The Bible CANNOT be “the Word of God”, because it so clearly justifies genocide.
The Jewish Bible’s fundamental distinction is between Israel and “the Nations” (Gentiles, Pagans, Goyim, Non-Jews). Israel is commanded to overcome and destroy them.
God does not take U-turns. The same God who promoted Genocide, cannot be the Loving God. One part must be bogus.
Either God wrote the Jewish Bible, through human authors he “inspired”, or he did not. It’s pretty clear that he did not - it’s just the work of man.

Finious, let me tell you that throughout history in the Bible the Israelites suffered many defeats against the Filistines or other nations. What kind of God is that who lets His people be defeated by other nations ? They lost many wars and thousand died. What about that ? And still God is in control of His nation, Israel. Look in the Bible and see for yourself, they did not only kill others in wars, they went through suffering too. So God is a fair God, and your arguments are USELESS in proving there is no living God of Israel.
Paul, God existed and He still exists and He is in control weather you doubt or not. Want evidence ? He says in the Bible that He will give Israel the land back and nobody will take it from them. I am a Buddhist - mostly Mahayana - mostly Zen. When I pray, it is to “the god of love and truth”. I could be called a Christian according to Jesus Christ’s own definition: someone who is
loving and helpful in simple, practical ways. Most people believe in barbaric ancient scriptures and savage gods of war/death because they fear hell and desire heaven. Plain old fear - plain old greed - not much love!
In 628 C.E. Prophet Muhammad (s) granted a Charter of Privileges to the monks of St. Catherine Monastery in Mt. Sinai. It consisted of several clauses covering all aspects of human rights including such topics as the protection of Christians, freedom of worship and movement, freedom to appoint their own judges and to own and maintain their property, exemption from military service, and the right to protection in war.
An English translation of that document is presented below.
This is a message from Muhammad ibn Abdullah, as a covenant to those who adopt Christianity, near and far, we are with them.
Verily I, the servants, the helpers, and my followers defend them, because Christians are my citizens; and by Allah! I hold out against anything that displeases them.
No compulsion is to be on them.
Neither are their judges to be removed from their jobs nor their monks from their monasteries.
No one is to destroy a house of their religion, to damage it, or to carry anything from it to the Muslims’ houses.
Should anyone take any of these, he would spoil God’s covenant and disobey His Prophet. Verily, they are my allies and have my secure charter against all that they hate.
No one is to force them to travel or to oblige them to fight.
The Muslims are to fight for them.
If a female Christian is married to a Muslim, it is not to take place without her approval. She is not to be prevented from visiting her church to pray.
Their churches are to be respected. They are neither to be prevented from repairing them nor the sacredness of their covenants.
No one of the nation (Muslims) is to disobey the covenant till the Last Day (end of the world).
This charter of privileges has been honored and faithfully applied by Muslims throughout the centuries in all lands they ruled.

Why do you people argue on little things and do not see what is the reality? Even if the muslims are asked to do so in Quran, they do not do so. But all this is being done by Christians and Jews. The reality of Islam cannot be explained using Ayahs of Quran out of their contexts. Muslims are asked to kill those who are disbelievers. And disbelievers are those who have no respect for humanity. Those who kill people when they are above them. Doesnt it look like that Quran is talking about Bush and Jews about what they are doing all over the world. What they did to Japan. And now what they are doing to Afghanistan, Iraq, Palestine, Chechnya and etc. What do you say all about this???

Tell me how many versions Bible has? Because Quran got only “1″ version. There are changes in every version of Bible from the other. Which of them are you supposed to follow?

How can both Bible and Quran be revelations from God if Quran denies crucifixion ? Why Quran also denies that God cannot have a Son ? These statements make Quran an enemy of the Bible, contradicting the Bible, cannot be a true revelation from God.

Clearly we can see Quran is denying the Word of God, attacks the most important message of the Bible, Jesus’s death on the cross to SAVE us.

That is exactly what i am talking about and you are confirming . Quran denies the death on the cross of Jesus Christ. So clearly Quran is Anti-Christ, hence the muslims wage war against Christians all over the world, but they blame it on poor Jews occupation of Palestine.

23 Snakes and scorpions will not harm anyone to the extent that if a child put his hand in its mouth, he will not be harmed.
24 Will animals will not harm anyone.
25 If a man will pass a lion, he will not be troubled or harmed, or even if any girl will open its mouth to test if it will do anything.
26 The camels will graze among lions, cheetahs with cattle and the jackals with goats.
27 The fertility of the land will increase to such an extent that even if a seed is planted in a hard rock, it will sprout.

You are highly mistaken. How can you say the Bible has changed over time ? Do you think the Bible is the Quran who has been passed down generation after generation verbally ?? Do you have any original copy of that. I mean in Hebrew, not translated by humans. Because, if we talk about the translation of Quran, there are many conflicts even. I say, that when translated, Bible was changed in meanings and so much more. We got copy of Quran in Arabic in every home.
Asad, take a trip to Israel, take a Bible with you, hire a translator and compare with the manuscripts, and see for yourself if they match or not. Other scholars already say they match.

ADDITION ERRORS
Book of Ezra C2, V2-65 and Book of Nehemiah C7 V7-66 provide the names and list of people released from Babylon….there are 18 different errors and contradictions in first 60 verses only of both books…
Ezra 2:64 says “total count in first 60 verses is 42, 360” whereas if you count yourself the figure comes out to be 29,818……similarly Nehemiah 7:66 also gives “total count 42,360” whereas in this book the total count is 31,089…..
COMMENT : I never say that God could make mistake in counting (God forgives me), what I want to clear is that lot of changes have been make in bible and it is not in pure form……therefore not authenticated….

2. King Solomon took 2000 baths or 3000 baths….
3. Jehoichain rained for 3 months or 3 months 10 days….
4. Basha invaded Judah at what period….in one book the period mentioned was even 10 years before his birth….
Dr. William Campbell, author of “Quran and Bible in the light of Science” said on 1st April, 2000 at Niles West High School Chicago, in the presence of thousands of historians and intellectuals.” I don’t have any answer to these contradictions, except to say that these contradictions have damaged the authenticity of Bible” Unquote…….

Asad, how come you don’t understand that question ? It is plain and simple. Let me explain it to you:
The Gospel was written AFTER Jesus went up to heaven. So it’s impossible that Allah gave Jesus a book that DID NOT YET EXISTED. This proves that Quran is written with mistakes and contradictions in it not worthy to believe.
Regarding your question with scientists, i can ask you the same, how many scientists say that Adam WAS 90 feet tall ? Since none say it, that means Quran has lied to us again.

This is interesting because while the biologists think they crushed Judaism, they actually confirmed Islam! The scientists came up with genetic research that led them to calculate the size a first man would have to be if the story was true. They came up with 90 feet. Note that 1400 years before these learned men came to this conclusion, the Prophet (SAW) said something similar:

In 1989 Dr. George Barnes, professor emeritus of physics at the University of Nevada, wrote the article “Physics and Size in Biological Systems” which discusses among many other issues also the problems of the tiny Lilliputians and the gigantic Brobdingnagians in “Gulliver’s Travels”. The author was aware that scaling a 6-ft person linear dimensions down by a factor of 12 reduced his volume by 123 = 1728 (the Lilliputians) or up by a factor of 10 increased his volume by a factor of 103 = 1000 (the Brobdingnagians). He does not seem to be aware of some of the serious, perhaps even disastrous, consequences that would result from doing so. … The problems of the Brobdingnagians are also very serious. As they were 10 times taller (and 10 times deeper and 10 times wider) than Gulliver, they would have 1000 times the mass, so a male would weigh 73000 kg or 80 tons! … There are quite a number of other physical characteristics that can be discussed using scaling. For example, the cross sectional area of the leg bones obviously scales as the square of the characteristic length while the mass of the body supported by the legs scales as the cube. Since the bone has some ultimate tensile strength in N/m2, there would be some limit to the height of an animal, beyond which it would crumble under its own weight.
Already in 1928 J. B. S. Haldane, a British geneticist, published a well-known essay titled “On Being the Right Size” (*, *). He wrote:
Let us take the most obvious of possible cases, and consider a giant man sixty feet high — about the height of Giant Pope and Giant Pagan in the illustrated Pilgrim’s Progress of my childhood. These monsters were not only ten times as high as Christian, but ten times as wide and ten times as thick, so that their total weight was a thousand times his, or about eighty to ninety tons. Unfortunately the cross sections of their bones were only a hundred times those of Christian, so that every square inch of giant bone had to support ten times the weight borne by a square inch of human bone. As the human thigh-bone breaks under about ten times the human weight, Pope and Pagan would have broken their thighs every time they took a step.
Seemingly Muhammad’s imagination was even larger than that of John Bunyan or Jonathan Swift since he added yet another 30 feet when teaching his followers about Adam. Obviously, the problems outlined by Barnes and Haldane are not going to diminish if the size of the person is increased even further. If Adam were 90 feet high, he would be 15 times taller (instead of ten times) and would have 3375 times (15 x 15 x15) the mass of a normal male. His weight would be an astonishing 246,375 kg or 270 tons!
According to these scientists, the existence of a 90 feet tall human being is physiologically impossible. The following quotation adds another aspect:
According to SB 4.55.543 Allah created Adam, making him 60 cubits tall. This would be a height of 90 feet (27½ metres). No animal body can function at this height. The highest that the heart could pump blood from the feet would be less than 32 feet (9.81 metres); any greater height than this would cause a vacuum lock to develop in the circulation system. In fact the height at which the circulation system breaks down would be considerably less than this due to friction between the blood and the walls of the blood vessels. (Source)
The above outlined issues are probably only the tip of the iceberg of problems that such a gigantic size would imply for a human being. Unless Muslims can present better arguments based on sound scientific reasoning, the conclusion can only be that Muhammad’s claim regarding the size of Adam belongs to the realm of myths and fairy tales. ”

The article is a hoax. Proving this is very easy:
1. Dr. Shlomi Lesser is allegedly (1) employed by the Hebrew University, (2) the Chairman of the Hofesh V’Mada Society, (3) working in genetic research “in conjunction with the research of other respected institutions around the world”. Despite using various search engines (Google, Yahoo, Metacrawler). I could find no record of the existence of an individual by the name of Shlomi Lesser. The only webpages that contain his name are copies of this above quoted article that is propagated on a number of Islamic websites. Most likely: A person of this name does not even exist, let alone being a public person holding the above noted positions.
2. Similarly, a search for the alleged Hebrew-English Israeli popular science journal “Ha-Mada Ha-Yisraeli B’Angleet V’Ivreet” results in the same observation. It is completely unknown on the internet, except in the above article. A journal of this name cannot be found anywhere else. It is certainly not a POPULAR journal as is claimed in the article. The conclusion of non-existence is even more likely for a publication than for a person.
3. It will hardly elicit any surprise: The alleged “Hofesh V’Mada Society” has not left any trace of its existence either.
4. No professional journal would write “hi-light” instead of highlight, use different spellings of the same term within a few sentences (bottle-neck, bottleneck), allow such repetitive formulations like “From there Dr. Lesser revealed that genetic research has revealed that …”, etc.

If the scientists say that humans of enormous size are just a myth, then they are also contradicting Bible. So, you also cannot support. Their theory of evolution is just a theory. And still they are searching for how to prove it.

So if people call anyone a GIANT, their words become equal to the words of Muhammad (S.A.A.W.W.) or Bible. These are just nick names people use for other people. But for Muhammad (S.A.A.W.W.) or Bible, the words used there are true in meaning. Or may be you believe that Bible is equal to the words of an average human. Quran doesn’t call Adam giant, only 90 feet tall, and the Bible doesn’t call Adam giant at all because Adam was normal size just like us.
